Polestar has teamed up with Hollywood star Alexander Skarsgård to unveil the Polestar 5
Polestar plans to redefine the future of performance with the launch of the Polestar 5, and its latest walkaround film gives fans a captivating look at what’s to come. The film, starring Alexander Skarsgård, celebrates the seamless blend of innovation, design, and sustainability that defines the Swedish automaker’s flagship Grand Tourer.
Skarsgård — known from Succession, Big Little Lies, and Murderbot — takes viewers on an immersive journey through the car’s key features. As a Polestar 3 driver himself since 2024, his connection to the brand brings authenticity and charisma to the performance-driven showcase.
The Polestar 5 represents the production realisation of the Precept concept, first unveiled in 2020 as Polestar’s declaration of intent for design, technology, and sustainability. Built on the bespoke Polestar Performance Architecture (PPA) with bonded aluminium, it achieves supercar-level torsional rigidity while remaining lighter than steel.
With dual motors — including an in-house developed rear unit — the Polestar 5 delivers a jaw-dropping 650 kW of power and 1,015 Nm of torque, launching from 0–100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds. Beyond performance, sustainability remains central: 83% of the aluminium used is sourced from smelters powered by renewable energy, and 13% is recycled, while the interior integrates Bcomp’s natural fibre composite material, reducing fossil-based plastics by 50%.
“Fantastic. Tomorrow’s not dead yet,” declares Skarsgård in the film — a fitting statement for a car that embodies the electric future of performance.
The full film, produced entirely in-house by Polestar’s creative team, is now available on Polestar’s official channels.
