For such an excellent car the interior is a let down and it is inside where rivals begin
to claw back ground on the Mondeo. While good quality materials are used
throughout and it is a comfortable car however some may find it generally
dull and cluttered.
What is it like to drive?
Two diesel engines are available the 1.6 and the 2.0. The 2.0 litre is excellent and is our
choice engine. The Mondeo simply glides along and it has great torque levels which
provide that sudden surge of power when required. It is nimble, agile with masses
of great grip levels and has unmatched dynamics. It is a joy to drive.
What is it likely to cost?
Fuel economy ranges from 4.3 litres per 100km to 5.6 litres. Prices start at €28,275 rising
up to €40,851.
Overall
The Mondeo has always had the driving dynamics to lure buyers in the competitive family
car market but the refreshed looks and excellent diesel engines combine to make it a must
try option. At its best the Mondeo is a great car.
