Aston Martin today unveiled the stunning new AM 310 Vanquish. Replacing the DBS flagship this new supercar dashes from 0-100kmph in 4.1s and with a top speed of 293kmph.
Beneath the bonnet, the Vanquish aims to win hearts and is powered by a stomping 6.0-litre V12 engine which has been upgraded to produce 573PS of power and 620Nm of torque. Transmission is supplied by the Touchtronic 2 six-speed automatic gearbox.
Unmistakably an Aston Martin, the design and styling are have been influenced by both the One-77 supercar and AM310 concept car revealed at the Concours d’Elegance in California earlier this year.
The body of the Vanquish is comprised of aluminium, magnesium alloy, a titanium bonnet, aluminium front grille, and a carbon-fibre splitter. Each body panel on the car is constructed from carbon fibre because of its high strength-to-weight ratio and flexibility of form. Meanwhile torsional rigidity is improved by more than 25%.
Practical improvements such as a newly designed and significantly more spacious cabin and a boot that, at 368 litres, is more than 60% larger than that of the DBS, ensure the new Vanquish can carry sufficient luggage for even the most ambitious grand tourist.
Priced from £189,995(sterling) first deliveries of the new sports car are expected to begin in Europe late in 2012.
The new Vanquish may be luxury and performance at an eye-watering price but we can’t think of a better reason to play Lotto tonight!
