Raftery Gets Last-Minute Call for Rally Terra Sarda in Sardinia

Aoife Raftery receives last-minute invitation to compete in Rally Terra Sarda in Sardinia
Galway-based rally driver Aoife Raftery has received a last-minute invitation to compete in the prestigious Rally Terra Sarda in Sardinia, Italy. Representing the Motorsport Ireland Rally Academy, Raftery will take on the two-day tarmac rally behind the wheel of a Renault Clio Rally5, with Swedish co-driver Ida Lidebjer-Granberg by her side.

This event will mark Raftery’s debut in the Clio Rally5, a challenge she’s eager to embrace. “I am incredibly grateful for this unexpected opportunity,” Raftery said. “A big thank you to the organisers for inviting me. It was a last-minute call on Tuesday, and I’m really looking forward to working with Ida.”

However, Raftery’s participation in Sardinia means she will miss this weekend’s Clare Forestry Rally, but she extended her best wishes to all competitors.

The Rally Terra Sarda, part of the 2024 Tour European Rally, will see drivers tackle 72 kilometers over twelve special stages, running on Saturday and Sunday.

Aoife Raftery is supported by Des Lyons Plant | Kenny (Peugeot) Galway | O’Neill O’Malley Architects and Project Managers | Loughrea Auto Parts | Quinn Hardware | KG Motorsport | Kerry Motorsport News.
