Car manufacturers are also offering huge discounts to attract buyers into their showrooms. From fuel vouchers to free servicing, it’s enough to make the end of the year a truly festive season for new car buyers writes Geraldine Herbert

BMW are offering complimentary leather on all 1 series and 3 series registered up to the end of March 2016 this represents a saving of €1,603 and €1,958 respectively.

The French car maker Citroen  plan to lure 161 potential buyers  into their showrooms with 0% APR PCP finance or €4,000 scrappage offered on the C4, C4 Cactus, C4 Picasso and Grand C4 Picasso. Available on cars ordered and delivered before 31st March 2016 Citroen have also extended its warranty by 2 years, with the launch of its new 5 year (or 100,000 kilometres) warranty.

Running at Ford Dealerships across the country until January 31 is the Ford Real Deal event that features reductions on a host of models.  The top of the range Kuga Titanium now comes  with leather trim; SYNC with 8” touch screen; hands-free tailgate; free Titanium upgrade pack for a price of €28,595 which represents a reduction of €4,000.  Ford Fiesta has been reduced by up to €3,000 off the Zetec and Titanium spec models, priced from €13,800 and €15,430 respectively and all with a 5 year warranty. There is €4,000 off the top of the range Focus Titanium priced from €21,420 also with a 5 year warranty. Ford are offering their Mondeo with up to €2,000 off the Mondeo Zetec with a free upgrade ‘appearance pack’ priced from €27,730 and finally the all new Ford C-MAX with up to €3,000 off the top of the range Titanium model with a free parking pack that includes powerfold mirrors, rear parking sensors and Ford SYNC with 8” touch screen, priced from €26,500.

Honda’s newest arrival the HR-V is packed full of equipment, technology and versatile space and is available for 161 from just €255 per month, with standard equipment including Alloy wheels, Climate control, Bluetooth, Cruise control, Automatic lights and City-brake active system. Upgrade to the HR-V ES from €289 per month and add  extras such as Parking sensors front & rear, Lane departure warning, Forward collision warning, Front fog lights, High-beam support system, and the web-enabled Honda Connect android touch screen infotainment system. The all-new Jazz is now available from €189 per month, and comes with a level of equipment which is unique in the supermini sector, including City-brake active system, Air conditioning, Auto lights and wipers, Bluetooth and Cruise control as standard. Upgrade to the Jazz ES for 161 and add Alloy wheels, Parking sensors front & rear, Dynamic Safety Pack, Alarm, and Honda Connect touch screen from just €219 per month. The new Honda Civic range is available from just €239 per month for 161 and the recently redesigned Honda CR-V is available from €339 per month.

Book a new 161 Hyundai before December 31st and you can avail of either a Trade and Up Grade 5 Years Free Servicing Bonus or a Trade and Up Grade Scrappage bonus of up to €4000. This Scrappage Bonus Applies to 5 passenger models, the i10, i20, i30, ix20 and the Tucson.

Jaguar dealers nationwide will be offering a PCP from €459 per month plus Jaguar Care Free 3 Year service plan on the newly launched XF. The XE is also available with PCP from €399 per month plus a Jaguar Care package to include Free 3 Year Service Plan.

Kia is offering 0% Hire Purchase on the Rio, cee’d and Soul and customers who order a new Kia this Christmas will receive a free €500 SuperValu voucher.

For 161 the recently updated Mazda6 is available from €318 per month with an additional spec upgrade worth up to €2000 while the Mazda3, available from €234 per month, will also offer a spec upgrade to the value of €1600.

The all-new Mazda2 launched in May 2015 is now available from a very competitive €173 per month and every Executive model will receive a complimentary Activity Style Pack which includes rear privacy glass, 16” diamond cut alloys, rear parking sensors, rain sensing wipers and dusk sensing lights.

Mazda Ireland are also offering reduced PCP rates and monthly repayments across the range with the all-new Mazda CX-3 now from €214 per month, the recently upgraded Mazda CX-5 from €299 per month and the all-new Mazda MX-5 from €304 per month.

PCPs are also available across the entire Mercedes-Benz range for e.g. A-Class from €298 per month and comes with €1,541 worth of options as standard including Cruise Control, Heated Front Seats, Keyless Start and Reversing Camera. Mercedes is also offering the GLE with €12,508 worth of standard equipment including Full leather, Heated front seats, Intelligent light system, Metallic paint, Mirror pack, Parktronic and Satellite navigation

MINI Ireland are offering competitive PCP offers on  their Cooper Models, with the Cooper 3 door for €360 per month with €2,359 deposit with 3.9% APR and the Cooper S 5 door for €399 per month with €4,452 deposit with 2.9% APR

Trade in your old car or van with Nissan and you’ll get a guaranteed minimum of €4,000 towards a new Nissan no matter how old your car or van is. This offer is available across their commercial and passenger range until 31st January.

Opel are offering a 50:50 Finance deal, you pay half now, and half in July 2017. No interest, no repayments, no catches! If you order before 31st of December, you can also avail of up to €4,500 scrappage allowance and 3 years free servicing.

The Peugeot Trade-In-Ability promotion continues up to the end of December, offering up to €4,500 scrappage allowance on selected models across the Peugeot passenger car range. Customers with cars that don’t qualify for scrappage are eligible for a €750 Peugeot customer reward. They also benefit from a five year extended warranty on all passenger car models

Customers looking to buy a 161 Renault can avail of 5 Years Warranty, 5 Years Roadside Assistance and 3 Years Free Servicing.

From now until the 31st of December Škoda are offering  0% Finance and SmartLink free on selected models in the Škoda Range. With  SmartLink, drivers can make the most of their smart phones by safely accessing approved app technologies–for free!

Suzuki is running a 5,000 Kms Free Fuel offer until the end of December. This will apply to customers who place a deposit on the Celerio, Swift and S-Cross models. They will also receive 12 months free road tax.  Pay a deposit on a new Vitara before 31st December and receive 6 months road tax. PCP and HP Finance packages are available across the Suzuki range with the Celerio from €115 per month. Swift from €139 per month and S-Cross from €199 per month.

Toyota are offering buyers a choice of a trade in allowance of up to €3,000 or 3 Years Free Servicing on all passenger cars registered before January 31st, 2016. There are also free technology, style and safety packs across the range for Toyota and also they have included safety sense on Aygo as standard. In terms of finance APR is from rates of 3.9% on selected models across the range.

Volkswagen are offering a  host of additional features across all Volkswagen retail cars for only €161 plus 3-years servicing free of Charge on all retail sales. With finance rates from just 1.9% APR and half-price R-Line exterior kits on many models, there are substantial savings to be made for customers who order their car before Christmas. There are a number of ‘Pack’ upgrades across the range including a Technology Pack in the Golf (includes items such as Cruise Control and a 6.5” touch screen infotainment system), a Business Pack in the Jetta (includes items such as Park Distance Control, Media-In and a rear-view camera on the Comfortline) and a Technology Pack on the Passat (with Keyless entry, park assist and tinted rear windows on the Comfortline).

For 161 Volvo have reduced prices on a range of models, including the new version of the V40 D2 (120hp) R-DESIGN that is now €2,050 less than the previous one. Significant price reductions are also on S80 versions introduced for next year between €3500 and €4500 euro off retail prices and similarly on V70 versions there is a saving of between €5150 and €6150.
