Skoda Octavia

What is it?
The Octavia is essentially a Volkswagen Golf with a bigger body

What is it like inside?
All models in the Octavia range are jam-packed with features and offer exceptional value. Incredibly spacious inside it has good, firm seating and an excellent driving position. The estate version is cavernous.

What is it like to drive?
The 1.2-and 1.4 litre petrol are simply too slow and just struggle to reach basic performance levels on the road. The diesels are much more gustier while smooth and refined. On the road the Octavia grips well and sticks to the road and is a fine handling car.

What is it likely to cost?
Fuel economy ranges from a 3.8 litre per 100 km to 6.3 litres depending on the engine choice. Prices for the Octavia start at €18, 035 and go up to €35,135 for the range topping 4 x 4 scout version.

Overall
The Octavia is undeniably functional, but it oozes quality, is supremely comfortable and is the perfect family car
