Style For Wheels – We Look At Cars On The Catwalk – Hermès and Bugatti

Car manufacturers like to give their motors the extra edge with a bit of help from the fashion world. But they don’t knock on the door of the likes of Penneys or H&M to kit out their cars. They go to the big fashion houses and the world’s most exclusive and sought after designers. In our Style for Wheels feature we will be looking at the offspring of some of these collaborations. These cars are so stylish they may have just driven off the catwalk.

1. Hermès and Bugatti

Hermès are more famous for handbags and scarves than for car design but the Bugatti Veyron got the Hermès treatment for a special edition unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 2008. This special edition of the Veyron is finished in maroon paint with a beige bonnet and matching leather interior. To let everyone know that this is no ordinary Veyron, it has special 22-inch alloy wheels bearing the Hermès H log, a H pattern grille and Hermès printed on the fuel cap. Priced at over one million euro this is definitely one for the super-rich.

Tomorrow we look at the Victoria Beckham and Land Rover Partnership

What do you think? Does a fashion partnership make sense for Car makers? Let us know in the comments.
