A recent survey has revealed some of the top reasons for flare ups between drivers and passengers on car journeys writes Geraldine Herbert

Rows over which route to take top the list for family flare-ups so a satnav may not only come in handy for finding alternative routes but could be the solution to avoiding in car arguments. Driving too fast, long journeys  and music choice are next on the list, compiled by the audio and infotainment specialist HARMAN.
The biggest causes of arguments in the car, the results:

1)     Getting lost            33%

2)     Bad driving habits (e.g. speeding, sharp braking)           22%

3)     Length of journey 13%

4)     Music choice          12%

5)     Too much noise     9%

6)     The driver refusing to ask for directions      6%

7)     Too many rest/toilet breaks      33%

So it seems the one thing we can all agree on is that car trips are the fastest road to arguments. If you are going on a family trip the best advice is  to leave plenty of time to get there, plan your route in advance and take regular breaks, especially when driving long distance.

Do you agree with the list? What do you think is the main reasons for in car arguments? Leave a comment and let us know
