Volkswagen Golf

What is it?
Now the sixth generation the Golf is one of the best cars in its class and is unbeatable in GTI guise.

What is it like inside?
It has a very practical and compact interior with all the instruments to hand and an excellent dash and dials. Seating is comfortable as are head and legroom and there is a decent boot. Not short on the extras and safety is also to the fore.

What is it like to drive?
On the road the Golf is agile, smooth, it grips corners, there is no oversteer and with a very pronounced steering it is a delight to drive. The GTI is a real road stripper, it absolutely devours the surface with that real engine growl when changing gears.

What is it likely to cost?
Depending on the engine fuel consumption ranges from 3.8 – 5.7 litres per 100 km. Prices start from €19,995 and go up to €31,260

Overall
One of the most popular cars on the roads and deservedly so it is refined, drives beautifully and oozes quality
