To celebrate our third anniversary, we’re very excited to announce that Danielle Murphy, currently the highest ranked female Drift driver in Europe, is joining WheelsForWomen.ie as a regular contributor

Danielle was the first ever Queen of Europe Ladies Drift League in 2013, coming runner up in the 2014 Championship and proving she can compete against the best teams in Europe by finishing 5th in a special pre-qualification event in Malta, King of the Kings. She was also the only woman to qualify for this event, and had the fastest initiation speed during qualifying in the dark, without head lights!

Danielle is looking forward to becoming part of the Wheelsforwomen.ie team “I am absolutely thrilled to be invited to join such a professional team of women involved in all aspects of the Motor world, anything with wheels and a steering wheel has always been in my blood, and I know there are many other women, and men out there who have dreams they have not yet fulfilled”

Wheelsforwomen.ie is Ireland’s first and only motoring site to cater for women. Launched on International Women’s Day on March 8th 2012 the site features honest, informative, and jargon-free car reviews, news and features and all are written by women for women. Founded by Sunday Independent Motoring Columnist Geraldine Herbert, Wheelsforwomen.ie covers a broad range of topics from jargon free car reviews to maintenance and driving tips.

“It is great to have Danielle  as part of the team and we look forward to her exclusive blogs, behind the scenes stories of her ventures and sharing her many successes to come in 2015 as she competes in Ireland and across Europe making an impact as a woman in such a male dominated sport” says Geraldine

This coming weekend Danielle is attending a Drift event in Sicily, Italy as a guest judge and Wheelsforwomen.ie will have exclusive access so stay tuned for more updates.
