Women’s Worldwide Car of the Year Awards Celebrate Innovation and Diversity in Madrid

Madrid set the stage for the Women’s Worldwide Car of the Year (WWCOTY) Awards, celebrating innovation, excellence, and the growing impact of women in the automotive industry.
The prestigious Women’s Worldwide Car of the Year (WWCOTY) awards took center stage in Madrid today, recognizing the best cars launched in recent months across multiple categories.

With a global reach of over 500 million people, WWCOTY is an international organization of women automotive journalists dedicated to highlighting excellence in the industry. This year, an esteemed jury of 82 professionals from 55 countries cast their votes, evaluating vehicles based on design, safety, efficiency, and innovation.

WWCOTY President Marta García emphasized the rigorous process behind these awards, stating:
“Every jury member drives thousands of kilometers before casting their vote. It’s a challenge we embrace with passion, ensuring the best cars receive the recognition they deserve.”

This year’s awards honored groundbreaking automotive achievements, with top brands receiving accolades for their commitment to excellence:

🚗 Best Urban Car: Mini Cooper – Accepted by Carlos Martínez Gil, Director of Mini Ibérica.

🚙 Best Compact SUV: Kia EV3 – Award collected by Eduardo Divar, General Manager of Kia Spain.

🚘 Best Sedan: Audi A6 e-tron – Accepted by Ignacio González, Director of Communications & External Relations, Audi Spain.

🚙 Best Large SUV: Hyundai Santa Fe – Received by Leopoldo Satrústegui, President of Hyundai Motor Spain.

🏔️ Best 4×4: Toyota Land Cruiser – Accepted by Rebeca Guillén, General Manager of Communications & Marketing, Toyota Spain.

🏎️ Best Sports Car: Porsche Panamera – Award collected by Beatriz Cobo, Public Relations & Communications, Porsche Ibérica.

🔋 Best Technology: Blade Batteries & BYD DM System – Recognized for innovation, with the award received by Alberto de Aza, CEO of BYD Spain & Portugal.

💎 Sandy Myhre Award (Brand Most Committed to Women): Volvo – Accepted by José María Galofré, CEO of Volvo Car Spain.

A Celebration of Women’s Impact on the Auto Industry

In their acceptance speeches, award winners praised the growing influence of women in shaping the automotive landscape. Diversity, inclusion, and innovation were key themes, with manufacturers reaffirming their commitment to gender equality and progressive industry advancements.
