We have asked some of the many women working in motoring to share their Working Week with us. This week we catch up with Amy Quilter, Marketing Manager at Kearys Motor Group
I usually wake at 7:30am, I shower and always have breakfast to set me up for the day and head off to work. The first thing I do is check my emails and catch up with the different dealerships (Hyundai, Renault, BMW, Nissan, MINI, Motorrad & Dacia) after the weekend. I also run through our online statistics every Monday morning and forward these onto the relevant dealers. I contact our creative agency and speak with them as we have a number of projects in the pipeline.
I then travel to our BMW and MINI showroom where every Monday we have our marketing meeting. Here we discuss all upcoming events, review past events and put together creative ideas and plans in place for the next quarter. I go back to my office and check emails and it’s time for lunch already.
After lunch I prepare for two meetings, one at 3pm and one at 4pm, where we will discuss various outside events and promotional opportunities for our portfolio of brands. Two very interesting meetings and by the time I have caught up on emails it is now 6pm and time to head home. It has been a good start to the week and I go to my weekly Zumba fitness class.
Like clockwork I rise at 7.30 am, shower, breakfast and head out the door. I review emails and work on notes from yesterday’s meetings and follow up accordingly. I am working on a commercial brochure with one of our dealerships so I speak with our creative agency on this and also the dealer principal and work on proofs.
I catch up with our PR agency on an event we have this weekend and put together information for a press release for them. I then contact a competition winner who has won a fantastic prize which we ran on a local radio station. It is lunchtime already and I grab a quick bite to eat.
I spend the afternoon working on a marketing plan and strategies for BMW and MINI from our meeting yesterday. I work on budget and look back at what worked and what will work in the future. This is very important as the right plan and strategies will help exceed targets that we have put in place for the upcoming quarter and year.
As the road conditions have become increasingly difficult in recent days, and the frost and ice spell may well continue in January I decide to get my Ford Fiesta assessed to ensure that all is in working order. It is great to have such a professional team on hand to resolve any of my motoring queries.
By the time I get my car back it is almost 6pm, I do a final run through of emails and head home.
I rise at 7.30 am, shower and have breakfast. Today we are meeting with the head of marketing for one of our brands and I bring along the marketing plan which I have been working on. After a productive meeting I head back to the office to catch up on emails and it is lunchtime already.
After lunch I send an email campaign for our event this weekend and liaise with the PR company again regarding the press release for the event.
In the afternoon I work with our creative agency on creating a series of billboards and approve advertisements for various papers and send them to print. It is now 6pm and I turn off the computer and head off to a boxercise fitness class.
Up again at 7.30am, shower, breakfast and out the door. Today our creative agency are visiting and it is a busy morning as we run through various plans, past designs and future plans with them. I then take them to visit our various dealerships and it is time for them to catch their flight.
After lunch I travel to our BMW dealership where our PR company have organised a photo shoot to coincide with our press release for our upcoming event this weekend. We work on securing a number of creative shots and our PR team issues these to a number of media outlets.
It’s Friday and I spring out of bed, I can’t believe it’s almost the end of the working week already. Today I update the content on our main website and also our dealership websites. I liaise with our creative agency on what we discussed at our meeting yesterday and also sign off on advertising for the weekend papers.
This weekend we are featuring a fantastic offer with BMW, when you order a 2013 BMW you will receive 1 years complimentary road tax, 3 years warranty and 1 year’s tyre insurance. It is sure to have customers interested. This afternoon I head to our BMW dealership and do a flyer drop of local businesses to generate a buzz for our BMW event this weekend.
Once I am back in the office I run through my plan for next week and arrange meetings. I have a final review of emails, finish at 6pm and head home. The weekend for me is all about catching up with family and friends.
