Safe driving begins with a safe car and one of the great safety advances in the last number of years has been the use of parking aids. A host of new technologies have been used to develop cost effective reverse parking aids and backup cameras that allow you a glimpse of what’s lurking behind the bumper.<\/p>\n

While technology is no substitute for good driving the benefits of such aids are immediately obvious. The sound of a warning alarm just as you are about to back over little Johnny\u2019s bike (or worse still little Johnny) can be lifesaving in extreme cases.<\/p>\n

Park-assist systems use sensors mounted in the rear bumper to detect obstacles. They provide some form of warning, lights or a beeping signal, to indicate the presence of, and distance to, obstacles behind the vehicle. These sensors can also be fitted to the front of the car for added protection. They can detect everything from poles, walls, bicycles, bins, children to small animals. Apart from the obvious safety benefit they can prevent costly damage to your Car, Van, Jeep or Commercial Vehicle and costly damage to other vehicles behind you.<\/p>\n

Parkingsensors.ie is an Irish owned company that has been providing cameras, aids and sensors for 11 years. Based in Co Meath they provide a nationwide service. <\/em>Cars can be easily and quickly fitted with parking sensors or rear view cameras. In the case of rear sensors the cables for the sensors are routed to <\/em>the interior of the car so there is no noticeable sign on the car. Prices start from \u20ac259, this includes fitting and professionally colour matching the sensors to the exact colour of the car. All of this is covered by a 3 year warranty. Rear view cameras can also fitted, the cost is in the region of \u20ac450 for a 3.5 in colour screen and a night vision camera installed in the number plate surround of your car.<\/p>\n

Finally if you are more concerned with what\u2019s going on inside your car rather than outside an in car TV systems can also be adapted to your needs. These have been used in the past to reassure new mums with a live video feed on the dash of their new born in the rear facing child seat of the car. The camera works day and night so anytime when travelling you can still see your beautiful new-born in real time right in front of you.<\/p>\n
