What incentives are in place for Ev drivers?<\/b>

\n<\/span>*\u20ac5,000 VRT rebate<\/b><\/span> – \u00a0new electric vehicles registered before December 2021 are eligible for VRT relief up to \u20ac5,000. With the 14% rate of VRT applied to electric vehicles, this means EVs have a tax-free value of up to \u20ac35,714. For plug-in hybrids, the rebate is \u20ac2,500 and on conventional hybrids, it is \u20ac1,500.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

*\u20ac5,000 SEAI New vehicle purchase grant <\/b>– – If you buy your new EV you can get a grant of up to \u20ac5,000 towards the cost. A grant of \u20ac2,500 is available on plug-in hybrids and \u20ac1,500 on conventional hybrids.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u20ac<\/strong>600 Home charger installation grant<\/b> – Buyers of both new and second-hand electric cars can avail of a government grant to install a charger for the vehicles in their home. The grant will support the cost of installing a home charger for an electric vehicle up to a maximum of \u20ac600. On\u00a0carcharger.ie, the cost for a basic 16-amp charger plus installation, cabling and VAT is \u20ac1049, or \u20ac449 with the grant included. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Reduced annual road tax <\/b>\u2013 Electric Vehicles Lowest rate of motor tax at \u20ac120 per annum for a BEV is \u20ac120 per annum and typically \u20ac170 per annum for a PHEV. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Free public charging <\/b>– There are approximately 1,200 public charge points across the island of Ireland and these are free to use with an ESB eCars access card. Owners of Plug-in hybrids and Evs are eligible to apply for one.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Reduced price tolls –<\/b> There is a 50% toll discount for battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and a 25% toll discount for plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs) on some tolls.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

0% benefit in kind<\/b> \u2013 BIK \u2013 Battery Electric Cars are eligible for 0% BIK over three years.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Free or reduced parking fees <\/b>\u2013 Some local authorities are providing free or reduced parking.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

100% Accelerated Capital Allowance <\/b>– There is a 100 per cent year one capital write down on Evs and charge equipment.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
