It is a slick four-seater with rakish looks and coupe-like curves.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What about the interior?<\/strong> Sliding into the CLA is a joy and the cabin is familiar from the A-Class with everything you would expect from a Mercedes. Stylish and modern the dials clear and elegant, the seats incredibly comfortable and it is beautifully finished throughout, driver and passengers will want for little. On the downside, the visibility is not great and the sloping roofline makes headroom in the back a little sparse.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Under the bonnet?<\/strong> Engines range from \u201cthat will do nicely\u201d to \u201cohhhh that&#8217;s fast\u201d and include four petrol engines and one diesel engine with further diesel models to follow.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_20344\" style=\"width: 860px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wheelsforwomen.ie\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/cla_main2-1.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-20344\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-20344\" src=\"http:\/\/www.wheelsforwomen.ie\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/cla_main2-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"850\" height=\"567\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.wheelsforwomen.ie\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/cla_main2-1.jpg 850w, http:\/\/www.wheelsforwomen.ie\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/cla_main2-1-300x200.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.wheelsforwomen.ie\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/cla_main2-1-768x512.jpg 768w, http:\/\/www.wheelsforwomen.ie\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/cla_main2-1-321x214.jpg 321w, http:\/\/www.wheelsforwomen.ie\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/cla_main2-1-140x94.jpg 140w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 850px) 100vw, 850px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-20344\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The CLA comes with a suite of features that includes full-colour displays, navigation and augmented reality aids, voice activated controls, and software that can actually \u2018learn\u2019 what the driver\u2019s needs may be<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>And on the road?<\/strong> The Mercedes CLA rides smoothly but it never quite delivers the sporty performance that the exterior hints at on the road but it is enjoyable to drive, whatever the journey.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Will it break the bank?<\/strong> Good looks and poise don\u2019t come cheap so you\u2019ll need upwards of \u20ac34,000 to get your hands on a CLA. On the flipside, the CLA has almost everything you could want as standard including the voice-activated \u2018Hey Mercedes\u2019 driver assistance system.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How safe is it?<\/strong> Safety provisions are first rate and every CLA gets enhanced brake assist, emergency stop and lane change assist. Also included as standard are halogen headlamps with integrated LED daytime driving lamps.
