The love it or hate it bold, distinctive design, may have given way to a more mature look but can the Nissan Juke still stand out from the crowd? asks Geraldine Herbert<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Why you will like it?<\/strong> The original Juke was a game-changer and spawned a whole new generation of small crossovers but it was never the most practical. The new grown-up version address those niggly flaws.<\/p>\n

Is it a looker?<\/strong> The polarising looks of the first Juke may have deterred some buyers but for some, it was also part of its charm. With more subtle styling the chiselled and sharp design of the new Juke has serious kerb appeal but still retains those signature details including the circular headlamps.<\/p>\n

How smart is it?<\/strong> The Juke is designed for those who need to car to fit with their connected life. Ane the Juke does not disappoint boasting the most advanced infotainment system ever fitted to a Nissan. It includes effortless integration of smartphones, an app to control and monitor the Juke and in-car WiFi<\/p>\n

What’s it like to drive?<\/strong> The Juke drives well thanks to its perky engine and good handling and whisks you nimbly on your way. It’s not, however, the smoothest to drive so you will feel those uneven surfaces. Just one engine is on offer, 1.0-litre petrol, but you can choose between a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed automatic.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

What’s it like inside?<\/strong> Whereas before the Juke was a case of form over function now thanks to the increased dimensions upfront it feels airy and spacious, The high-set driving position gives good visibility and the dash is simply and clearly laid out. The boot is a useful shape and size and will swallow 422 litres. Space in the back is a little tight for adults and rear visibility is not the best so you will be glad of the reversing camera that comes standard on all models bar the entry-level one.<\/p>\n

How safe is it?<\/strong> The Juke achieved the full five-star rating when tested by the Euro NCAP. In addition to keeping you and your passengers safe the Juke’s AEB system can detect vulnerable road users like pedestrians and cyclists.<\/p>\n

What are my options?<\/strong> Available in 5 trims XE, SV, SV Premium, SVE and N-Design even the standard Juke is well equipped and gets E-Call, Bluetooth Connectivity with Audio Streaming, Intelligent Emergency Braking with Pedestrian and Cyclist Recognition, Automatic Headlights with High Beam Assist, Monoform Sporty Seats and Body Colour Door handles. Prices start from \u20ac21,645 but our test car, the SVE Manual specification with the BOSE Pack option added, cost \u20ac27,350.<\/p>\n

Will it break the bank?<\/strong> Buying and owning a Juke shouldn\u2019t blow your budget thanks to Nissan’s excellent reputation for reliability plus the Juke is well priced and comes with a 3-year warranty or 100,000km.<\/p>\n

Our Verdict:<\/strong> Under the Juke’s chiselled exterior is a smart, spacious and practical\u00a0 car<\/p>\n

The Good:<\/strong> Quirky Styling, Roomy and practical.
