Daisy\u2019s 1st Race Car is a great story that little girls and boys will all equally enjoy \u2013 however there is an important underlying message for girls.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The book is intended to highlight that sports and in particular motorsport and STEM are available options to little girls too.<\/p>\n

Author Laura Hannon, a mechanical engineer was the only female on her Engineering Course in university and after working in a male-dominated field for 10 years, she realised that empowerment needs to begin at a young age.<\/p>\n

Daisy is Laura\u2019s way of sharing this message. The book\u2019s aim is to smash the stereotype that girls don\u2019t belong in STEM and Motorsport.<\/p>\n

Proceeds from the book will support Children\u2019s Services in CUH through CUH Charity.<\/p>\n

The book has also received significant support from Formula Female and its founder, Nicci Daly \u2013 a mechanical engineer, an international hockey player and a motorsport engineer having worked in US race teams.<\/p>\n
