The Road Safety Authority (RSA) is back at Stradbally this weekend (29\u201331 August) as the official road safety partner of Ireland\u2019s biggest festival.<\/p>\n

Meet the FlineBox \u2013 Your Festival Reality Check<\/h3>\n

Ever wondered if \u201cjust one more pint\u201d might push you over the limit? The RSA has you covered. The FlineBox is a self-service breathalyser powered by the same Dr\u00e4ger sensor technology used by An Garda S\u00edoch\u00e1na. It gives you clear, no-nonsense results before you even think about turning the key in the ignition:<\/p>\n

    No alcohol<\/strong> \u2192 Safe to drive<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Alcohol present but under the limit<\/strong> \u2192 Driving not recommended<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    High alcohol<\/strong> \u2192 Over the legal limit. Do. Not. Drive.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    You\u2019ll find FlineBoxes in the Campervan, Red and Yellow car parks<\/strong>, running all weekend and even into Monday morning \u2014 because let\u2019s face it, the \u201cmorning after\u201d is when bad decisions can creep in.<\/p>\n

    Road Safety Goes Live on RT\u00c9 2FM<\/h3>\n

    To spread the word even further, the RSA is teaming up with RT\u00c9 2FM. Presenters will be hyping the FlineBox and urging listeners to plan ahead, test themselves, and never guess when it comes to drink driving.<\/p>\n

    Sam Waide, Chief Executive of the RSA, sums it up:<\/p>\n

    \u201cElectric Picnic is a celebration of music and community \u2013 and we want everyone to enjoy it and get home safely. Tools like the FlineBox empower people to make smarter choices about drink driving. Every journey matters \u2013 yours, and everyone else\u2019s on the road.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

    Festival Survival Tips<\/h3>\n

    The RSA is also sharing some essential reminders for the road home:<\/p>\n

    • \n

      Look out for vulnerable road users<\/strong> \u2013 especially at night.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Don\u2019t underestimate the morning after<\/strong> \u2013 alcohol can stay in your system long after sunrise.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Manage fatigue<\/strong> \u2013 stop, sip, sleep if you\u2019re flagging.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Meanwhile, An Garda S\u00edoch\u00e1na is urging festivalgoers to go by public transport where possible<\/strong>, and if you\u2019re driving, follow the official Garda traffic plan at Garda.ie<\/strong> (not just your sat-nav).<\/p>\n

      Safety Is the Headliner<\/h3>\n

      With the RSA, Garda\u00ed, festival organisers and fans pulling together, the goal is simple: everyone gets to Electric Picnic safely \u2014 and everyone gets home safely too.<\/p>\n
