Aimee has just taken on a new project in a Formula Vee to compete in the remainder of the 2015 season and has set her sights high for 2016. \n<\/strong>Ruth’s earliest memory is of family trips in a Hilman Hunter. Nothing spectacular about that you might think; except there were 8 kids, 2 parents & an aunty who was a nun. She had to get the front seat! From there, the Scott family progressed to an orange Opel Kadett. After getting driving lessons for her 21st birthday, Ruth took to the road from her hometown of Roscommon to working in Limerick until she drove her car in the hard shoulder up to Dublin to start work with 2fm.<\/p>\n

Since then, Ruth was a (nervous) Navigator in Punchestown at a rally in a Kia. She learned how to ride a Harley Davidson 883 sportster. A case of 2 wheels good; 4 wheels better, Ruth moved back to 4 wheels with aplomb. You can follow Ruth on Twitter at @DJRuthScott<\/a>

Ruth<\/span> is a horticulturist turned baker who loves nothing more than heading out on two wheels when she can. It began with necessity – cycling<\/span> to work. But this was a revelation as Ruth<\/span> discovered the freedom and joy that can come from going for a spin. Luckily, her husband Ciar\u00e1n also got into cycling<\/span> at the same time and they have since travelled around Ireland and continental Europe on their Surly Long Haul Truckers, enjoying the slow pace and beer breaks along the way. If she’s not on her Surly tourer, Ruth<\/span> can be found going a slightly faster pace on her beloved Trek racer (a hand-me-down from her Dad almost 10 years ago).<\/p>\n

As well as actively getting out on her bike, Ruth<\/span> is a member of WEXBUG, an advocacy group for everyday cycling<\/span> in Wexford. Her particular area of interest is encouraging more women to hop on their bikes. She is also a co-founder of Stokers Bike Collective – a bike-packing adventure group based in Wexford.
