Can you explain the powdercoating process?
\n<\/span><\/i><\/strong>Yes, the process involves soaking wheels in a Benzene alcohol bath, before shot blasting to provide the perfect coating base. Top quality powder, OE colour and acrylic laquers are then applied in various stages to produce the exceptional finish standard.<\/p>\n

How long does it take?
\n<\/span><\/i><\/strong>Turnaround on a full set of alloy wheels is generally 2-3 days and we have the facility to drive in and leave the car or a nationwide delivery service – we can also remove and replace tyres and have your wheels rebalanced following the powdercoating.<\/p>\n

How long does the finish last?
\n<\/span><\/i><\/strong>We offer a full 24 month guarantee on wheels and as a family business we always go out of our way to make sure a customer is 100% happy – powdercoating is more durable and of a higher quality than paint<\/p>\n

What if i’m not sure about\u00a0colour\/finish?
\n<\/span><\/i><\/strong>We have a showroom in our new premises and we invite anyone who is thinking of refurbishing their wheels to come in & have a chat with us while looking around our large stock of coated wheels. Sometimes Jeff will stir a customer in the right direction as far as colours go!<\/p>\n

What’s the most unusual item you’ve had in the workshop for powdercoating?
\n<\/span><\/i><\/strong>The most unusual thing that I have seen the lads work on is the full moon, half moon ornaments that are exhibited on the N4 Motorway. It took the lads a while to get the colour of the moon to their liking, but I have to say I think they look great on the side of the motorway.<\/p>\n

What’s your typical customer like?
\n<\/span><\/i><\/strong>Our typical automotive customer is male, who has a passion for their car or bike and hopefully after\u00a0<\/span>reading this interview we\u2019ll be seeing a lot more women paying us a visit and getting their wheels done. Girl Power & all that !!<\/p>\n

Have you ever experienced discrimination being a female business owner?
\n<\/span><\/i><\/strong>No I can\u2019t say that there has been anything majorly discrimination directed at me. Unless I mention the few ignoramuses that I can get on the phone\/or in office , when they look for the person \u2018in charge\u2019 or that \u2018knows anything about cars\u2019.<\/p>\n

How do you manage juggling the business and family?
\n<\/span><\/i><\/strong>With great difficulty !! Ah no, well I have three kids under 7, so yes its hard sometimes to even get into work through illness\u00a0or school holidays – but then its the same for every working mammy in the country. You feel guilty somedays leaving them in a childminders but at the end of the day I’m going to work because I want to strive to keep our family business afloat. Maybe one day one of my girls will be working alongside me in the office!\u00a0 I also need the head space some days!!!<\/p>\n

What plans do you have for the future of Tallaght Powdercoating<\/a>?
\n<\/span><\/i><\/strong>Our plans are to continue to provide top quality work and to make sure that our name is out there. The marketing and advertising of our services is something that I plan to offer 100% of my time to this year. I want to make sure that everyone has heard about us.<\/p>\n
