If possible, opt for a path that keeps you protected.<\/li>\n<li>Slowing down gives you more control over your vehicle and helps you react more effectively to sudden gusts of wind. It also reduces the impact of turbulence from other vehicles.<\/li>\n<li>Stay alert for debris that may have been blown onto the road. Wind is unpredictable, with sudden gusts that can surprise even the most seasoned driver. Be particularly cautious on open stretches, near bridges, gaps in hedges, or when overtaking high-sided vehicles. Keep both hands firmly on the wheel to maintain control.<\/li>\n<li>High-sided vehicles are especially vulnerable in windy conditions, and a strong gust could push them into your lane. But remember, cars aren\u2019t immune either\u2014crosswinds can easily throw you off course on exposed roads.<\/li>\n<li>Turn off cruise control so you can better manage your speed and stay in control.
