We talk muscle cars, gadgets and more with\u00a0Record-breaking Irish athlete, Kelly Proper<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

If you were a car what car would you be?<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0The new 2015 Ford Mustang \u2013 I just love the classic Mustang look \u2013 the new model will be on sale in Ireland for the first time from November, I can\u2019t wait to try it out!<\/p>\n

\u00a0What do you drive and what does it say about you?\u00a0<\/strong>I drive a Ford Focus Zetec S and with its 150PS engine, it is like me, made for performance but sleek and stylish\u2026.!<\/p>\n

Do you have a favourite car gadget?\u00a0<\/strong>Believe it or not, the heated front seats in my Focus is my new favourite car gadget \u2013 on a couple of cold mornings in September I thought, yes I could get used to this\u2026!<\/p>\n

\u00a0Who taught you to drive?\u00a0<\/strong>My mother taught me to drive when I was seventeen.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Whom do you most admire in your industry?\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0I admire many athletes in all different sports so I couldn’t pick just one. From local level to the world stage I love watching any sport where the athletes\/players are giving it their all and love what they do. They are the most enjoyable races or games to watch.<\/p>\n

What was your best career decision to date?<\/strong> I guess it would have to be in never giving up. I had a difficult time with injury a couple of years ago and I felt I’d never get back to my best, but with the support of the people around me I was able to stay positive and work hard through those really tough times<\/p>\n

What is on your car stereo right now?<\/strong> I have a lot of playlists for different things. \u00a0On my way to training it’s all fast songs but if I’m driving long distance I mostly listen to Newstalk.<\/p>\n

One item you couldn’t live without<\/strong>?\u00a0My car, \u00a0I really rely on my Ford Focus to get to the different training venues, I don’t know what I’d do without it. I could probably live out of if at this stage with all the gear in the boot.<\/p>\n

How do you relax?<\/strong>\u00a0I usually watch box sets when I have to rest after training, I find them great to help me switch off for a while.<\/p>\n

Who is your hero?\u00a0<\/strong>It’s like my previous answer for the person I admire most in that to be the best at anything or even to have a chance to be the best you have to work so hard, sacrifice a lot and really push yourself. l have a huge amount of respect for anyone striving for this.<\/p>\n

Describe yourself in one word?<\/strong> Easygoing<\/p>\n
