Opel has pulled the wraps off the new GT Concept and hints at what a future coupe might just look like writes Geraldine Herbert<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

1) The GT Concept will be officially unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show next month and is a two seat coupe.
\n2) Borrowed from the Opel Adam, Corsa and Astra is a punchy turbocharged 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine.
\n3) The GT nameplate was first used on an Opel coupe in 1968 and it is rumoured the next one will be in production by 2018 in time to mark the 50th anniversary.
\n4) The new coupe accelerates from 0 to 100 km\/h in less than eight seconds and has a top speed of 215 km\/h.
\n5) Bearing all the classic sports car hallmarks the GT Concept weighs only 1,000 Kilos with rear-wheel-drive and a stripped down cabin.
\n6) Racy exterior touches include the red signature line that splits the body horizontally and the distinctive red front tyres \u2013 mounted on rims with a cheeky roller skates design.
\n7) We particularly like the window design; the glass seamlessly integrates with the doors.
\n8) Futuristic design touches abound including two cameras mounted behind the wheel arches that are designed to enhance visibility.
\n9) Roughly the size of the Mazda MX-5 the new coupe promises to be small enough to park in tight city centre spaces, powerful enough for a thrilling road trip. And all the time, stunning to look at.<\/p>\n
