Not just for them, but for you.<\/p>\n<p>Now, a study carried out by tyre manufacturer Goodyear has identified four distinct personalities all parents fit into when teaching the rules of the road.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FOUR TEACHING STYLES DRIVERS: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a01)\u00a0<\/strong><strong>THE TEAM MATE <\/strong>\u2013 Happy families right? Team Mates prefer a friendly \u2018big brother\u2019 approach to coaching their children and can often be heard sharing their own personal experiences. Like Dumbledore, Team Mates believe empowerment is the way forward and will praise their children even if the manoeuvre isn\u2019t quite right. They will often be heard swearing at other drivers, even if it was their child who made the mistake.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2) THE SKIPPER <\/strong>\u2013 Taking a back seat is an understatement here. Like Yoda, Skippers will offer nuggets of information but prefer the \u2018self-discovery\u2019 route of teaching, and like to give responsibility to students to make their own decisions \u2013 even at roundabouts. They will support their child if they have a wobble, but if it gets too much or improvement is slow, they are likely to give up and pass the reigns (or wheel) over to someone else.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3) THE WORSHIPPER <\/strong>\u2013 Like Jack Black in The School of Rock, Worshippers prefer to motivate and love to congratulate their children on their efforts even if the action wasn\u2019t perfect.\u00a0 They are so pleased that their child is even attempting to drive, that they will happily go car shopping with them. But beware, it\u2019s more than likely they didn\u2019t even pass their own driving test at the first attempt.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4) THE DRILL SERGEANT <\/strong>\u2013 The Drill Sergeant believes they are an expert on the subject of driving and likes to delegate actions. Like Miss Trunchball herself, Drill Sergeants usually have a lesson plan already mapped out and will set tests to ensure their child knows enough before moving onto the next subject. A classic task master, and the most likely to have a personalised number plate, but all\u2019s not lost \u2013 they are also the most likely to have passed their own driving test first time.<\/p>\n<p>Goodyear have created a \u2018parent personality\u2019 quiz &#8211; so people can work out exactly which category they fall into.
