1)<\/strong>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Kia was founded in 1944 and is the oldest car manufacturer in South Korea.<\/p>\n

2)<\/strong>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 It\u00a0was bought by Hyundai Motor \u00a0Company in 1998 during the Asian financial crisis and together they are now the world\u2019s 4th\u00a0largest car manufacturer behind Volkswagen, Toyota and General Motors.<\/p>\n

3)<\/strong> \u00a0 \u201cKia\u201d\u00a0 is roughly translated to \u2018rising out of Asia\u2019 in Sino-Korean language.<\/p>\n

4)\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In 1962 Kia produced South Korea\u2019s first truck the K-360, it had only 3 wheels.<\/p>\n

5)<\/strong>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Their slogan, \u201cThe Power to Surprise,\u201d represents the company\u2019s global commitment to surprising the world with exciting and inspiring experiences that go beyond expectations.<\/p>\n

6)\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In 1993, Kia manufactured its three millionth vehicle. In 2016 alone, Kia produced and sold over three million cars.<\/p>\n

7)\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 By 2020 Kia plan to have 14 alternative fuel models –\u00a0 that is hybrids, electrics and plug in hybrids.<\/p>\n

8)\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The big turnaround for the company came when it increased focus on Europe, and designer Peter Schreyer was hired as the Kia design boss. Schreyer spent a decade with the VW Group as head of Audi and head of Volkswagen design.<\/p>\n

9)\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Sportage is Kia\u2019s biggest selling model with sales making up 20% of total sales.<\/p>\n

10)<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Kia\u2019s Hwasung manufacturing plant builds one million cars a year, that\u2019s 114 cars an hour or almost two a minute.<\/p>\n
