\nWhy you will like it?<\/strong> One of the great automotive secrets, the Alpine A110 is a two-seater sports car with a heritage that goes back to the Sixties. Alpine, a name synonymous with rally victories, was bought by Renault in 1973, and in 2017 a new modern interpretation debuted at the Geneva motor show. While it is not currently available to buy in Ireland we hope it\u2019s only a matter of time before it is.<\/p>\n

Is it a looker? <\/strong>This low-slung mid-engine and rear-wheel coupe is fresh, modern, and cool.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s it like inside? <\/strong>Slipping behind the wheel takes careful maneuvering and it\u2019s not to be attempted while wearing a skirt. Once in, the effort is rewarded by exquisitely comfortable sports seats. The overall look and feel of the cabin is good but it is spartan so be warned you need to pack wisely.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s it like to drive?<\/strong> Press the start button and all quibbles are gone and the car is the perfect blend of power and balance. The 1.8-litre petrol engine produces 248hp and 320Nm \u2013 enough to propel it from 0-100 in just 4.5 seconds. The top speed may be 248km but this is a car you can enjoy at any speed.<\/p>\n

How safe is it?<\/strong> There’s plenty to keep you safe, too, including ESP, Emergency Brake Assist, and ABS.<\/p>\n

Will it break the bank?<\/strong> The Alpine is not cheap and Renault reckon it would cost around \u20ac80k in Ireland<\/p>\n

Our Rating?<\/strong> The A110 is a truly memorable car and while it’s not what you’d call an affordable coupe it is the one to opt for if you want to look fabulous while enjoying the thrill of the ride.<\/p>\n

The Good:<\/strong> Cassic styling, driving dynamics
\nThe Gripes:<\/strong> Not the most practical, even for a two-seater, visibility is woeful.<\/p>\n
