\n<\/strong>The Hyundai Inster is a refreshing take on the compact electric city car \u2014 a rare breed in today\u2019s SUV-dominated market. At just 3.8 metres long, it\u2019s clearly built for urban life but offers far more than just compact dimensions. This small EV brings clever practicality, smart tech and affordability into one tidy package, proving that good things still come in small sizes.<\/p>\n

\n

Styling?<\/strong>
\nThe Inster has a chunky, purposeful look that feels modern without being overly fussy. It’s not trying too hard to look futuristic \u2014 instead, it leans into simplicity with clean lines and compact proportions. While unmistakably a city car, it manages to feel solid and stylish. Inside, it punches above its weight with dual 10.25-inch displays and a premium feel that’s more grown-up than you’d expect at this price.<\/p>\n

Under the Bonnet?<\/strong>
\nThere are two battery options: a 42kWh version offering up to 330km of range, and a larger 49kWh battery promising around 360km. Our test car, fitted with the 49kWh pack, comfortably delivered around 300km in real-world conditions. The Inster also supports fast charging \u2014 from 10% to 80% in just 30 minutes \u2014 making it practical even for longer days on the go.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>What About Inside?<\/strong>
\nDespite its compact footprint, the Inster\u2019s cabin is impressively roomy. Hyundai has nailed the art of interior packaging, with clever features like sliding rear seats (on the Elegance trim) that let you choose between extra boot space or more legroom. The boot ranges from 238 litres to 351 litres depending on configuration, and yes \u2014 it passed the ultimate test: fitting teenagers and a flat-pack haul from Ikea. The interior design is minimal yet thoughtful, and overall, it feels far more premium than you\u2019d expect in this price bracket.<\/p>\n

And Safety?<\/strong>
\nThe Inster comes equipped with a solid suite of safety features as standard. While specific Euro NCAP ratings are still pending, Hyundai\u2019s track record in safety is strong, and the Inster includes advanced driver assistance systems that give peace of mind on busy roads and tight city streets alike.<\/p>\n

Rivals<\/strong>
\nThe Hyundai Inster faces some strong \u2014 and very price-conscious \u2014 competition. Key rivals include the Citroen e-C3 (\u20ac23,400), Dacia Spring (\u20ac16,990), Fiat 500 Electric (\u20ac24,995), and the much-anticipated Renault 5 (\u20ac25,995).
