Naas driver R\u00f3is\u00edn Sweeney is the first woman to win a Formula Sheane race since David Sheane introduced the class more than 20 years ago. <\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Driving the Nordic Spirit Ireland car, she took the lead at the start and held on for a historic victory announced by Motorsport.ie and Motorsport Ireland.<\/p>\n

Sweeney entered the series in 2026.<\/p>\n

Away from the circuit, Sweeney is an aerospace engineering graduate and now works at Milestone Aviation. Her path began in karting where she became a Motorsport Ireland Tillotson T4 champion before making history as the first woman to win the Student Sport Ireland individual karting championship.<\/p>\n
