Spring-cleaning is not just about your home. With more time on your hands with the current lockdown its time to turn your attention to your car, Suzanne Keane offers tips on how to spring clean your car<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Summer may finally (fingers crossed) be on the way. It\u2019s funny how that little bit of sunshine last week was able to increase the amount of shiny cars (along with vest tops and sunglasses) on our roads\u2026.<\/p>\n

Is your car due a little spring clean?<\/p>\n

Firstly \u2013 empty the rubbish! Take out anything that shouldn\u2019t be in the car, heavy jackets, winter boots etc \u2013 that means cleaning out the boot too! You may even be able to take out the ice scraper and de-icer \u2013 although with our climate you can never be sure! All these extra bits are increasing your fuel consumption\u2026<\/p>\n

Then give the car a quick vacuuming, followed by some polish on the dash and other plastics. There\u2019s nothing worse than getting into a smelly car on a hot day so make sure you hoover\/clean in every crevice!<\/p>\n

The next step is to clean the windows \u2013 any sunshine we do get will show up any dirt or fingerprints and if you\u2019re driving towards the sun any marks on the windscreen will make it harder to see out! Newspaper (or a microfiber cloth) and some normal window cleaner is all you need.<\/p>\n

When you\u2019ve got the interior gleaming give the car a thorough wash to knock of all that winter grime \u2013 including the undercarriage and inside the wheel arches to knock off any traces of grit\/salt from the roads. If you\u2019re not a car-wash expert check out our guide!<\/a><\/p>\n

Finally, do a quick check under the bonnet. Oil, water, coolant and make sure all the pipes and hoses are in good condition.<\/p>\n

Now all that\u2019s left to do is to wait for the restrictions to lift and with next glimpse of sunshine, roll down those windows and enjoy your car\u2026..<\/p>\n
