This would be the first time the 5 of us &#8211; Laura Keane, Caroline Kidd, Jennifer Mullan, Geraldine Herbert and myself &#8211; were in the same place at the same time!<\/p>\n<p>Following a few quick introductions and the signing of &#8220;death or injury&#8221; disclaimers we set off in two teams to take on the Off-Roading course at Mondello. Team 1 was Caroline and Jennifer (the experienced off-roaders) and Team 2 included Geraldine and the 2 novices!<\/p>\n<p>I was first up and despite my fear of getting stuck managed to get around quite easily (well it was just a bumpy field with some mud to begin with) &#8211; and then Laura took over&#8230;.. she had barely made it around the corner when we arrived at the actual difficult parts of the course! Metal ramps, railway balancing and driving through a container&#8230;.. which made me very glad that we had swapped when we did!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wheelsforwomen.ie\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/2013-11-23-938.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7165\" alt=\"Laura Off-roading\" src=\"http:\/\/www.wheelsforwomen.ie\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/2013-11-23-938.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.wheelsforwomen.ie\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/2013-11-23-938.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.wheelsforwomen.ie\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/2013-11-23-938-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Despite saying she was out of practise Geraldine&#8217;s experience showed when she got behind the wheel&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wheelsforwomen.ie\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/2013-11-23-953.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7166\" alt=\"Ger Off-roading\" src=\"http:\/\/www.wheelsforwomen.ie\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/2013-11-23-953.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.wheelsforwomen.ie\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/2013-11-23-953.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.wheelsforwomen.ie\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/2013-11-23-953-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>But once we had the Land Rovers suitably covered in mud there was a surprise in store&#8230;.. Autotesting!!<\/p>\n<p>On the practise runs I started off great (with spinning tyres) but it was all downhill from there!
