\nParis may be the fashion capital of the world but from tomorrow it\u2019s all about the cars as the doors of the Paris Motor Show open. Here are a few new models that have caught our eye writes Geraldine Herbert.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Fiat 500X<\/strong> \u2013 the New 500X completes the family line up and is Fiat\u2019s version of the Jeep Renegade.\u00a0Both cars are\u00a0the expected to appeal to different buyers and\u00a0will be offered with a choice of front- or all-wheel drive.<\/p>\n

Jaguar XE<\/strong>
\nThe XE is the new entry-level model of the Jaguar brand and will rival BMW and Audi in the hotly contested compact executive sector when it arrives in showrooms next year. It promises to deliver on the style and luxury associated with the British brand and is the first in\u00a0a\u00a0new line of cars based on modular light-weight aluminum architecture.<\/p>\n

Land Rover Discovery Sport<\/p><\/div>\n

Land Rover Discovery Sport
\nThe Discovery Sport replaces the Freelander and it’s smaller than the current Discovery. Land Rover describes this new baby as “the world’s most versatile and capable premium compact SUV”. It will be launched with\u00a0 an efficient 2.2-litre SD4 four-cylinder diesel engine, and advanced nine-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmissions. We will be test driving the car at the end of the year in Iceland so we will no doubt find out just how capable this car is.<\/p>\n

Mercedes AMG GT<\/strong>
\nAiming to attract buyers from Porsche this new Mercedes is powered by a new 4.0-litre Bi-Turbo V8 engine. It is also the first car in the Mercedes line-up to drop the Benz from its name.<\/p>\n

Mazda MX-5<\/p><\/div>\n

Mazda MX-5<\/strong>
\nThe 4th generation Mazda MX-5\u00a0will make its European motor show debut. Unveiled last month in Barcelona, the MKIV\u00a0Mazda MX-5\u00a0is expected to give another boost to the Japanese brand and promises to be the sportiest ever.<\/p>\n

Opel Corsa
\n<\/strong>The fifth-generation\u00a0Corsa\u00a0will be the star of the Opel stand at the\u00a0Paris\u00a0Motor\u00a0Show. There is a new look inside and out but the real highlights are under the bonnet of the new Corsa. A new 1.0-litre Ecotec 3-cylinder petrol engine, offered in two versions \u2013 89hp (90PS) and 113hp (115PS) and will be available with an all-new six-speed manual transmission.<\/p>\n

Suzuki Vitara<\/p><\/div>\n

Suzuki Vitara<\/strong>
\nBased on the iV-4 concept, which was first shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show of 2013 the Vitara will make its debut at the show. It will arrive in Ireland next spring and will compete against the likes of the Ford EcoSport. \u00a0The new five-door model will be available with a four-wheel-drive option via the firm’s AllGrip system.<\/p>\n

Toyota C-HR –<\/strong> Toyota will unveil its new C-HR Concept at the\u00a0Paris Motor Show. The concept gives an early hint of what kind of vehicle Toyota would like to bring to market. The concept will feature a hybrid engine and according to\u00a0Toyota, the\u00a0C-HR\u00a0will blend “a powerful new design language with an engaging driving experience”.<\/p>\n

Volkswagen Passat<\/strong> – The new\u00a0Volkswagen\u00a0Passat\u00a0will also make its public debut at the\u00a0Paris Motor Show. On sale in Ireland in January 2015 the eighth-generation Passat will be priced from \u20ac27,295 for the 1.4-litre 125bhp TSI petrol saloon.<\/p>\n

\"Volvo<\/a>

Volvo XC90<\/p><\/div>\n

Volvo XC90<\/strong> \u2013 The long wait for a replacement for Volvo’s ageing flagship model the XC90 will be the star of the Volvo stand at the\u00a0Paris Motor Show. There will be a range of 2.0-litre four cylinder Drive-E powertrains and the top of the range XC90 Twin Engine which combines a 2.0-litre four cylinder supercharged and turbocharged petrol engine with an electric motor offers an unrivalled combination of power and clean operation with 400bhp and CO2 emissions of around 60g\/km.<\/p>\n
