Unfortunately summer seems to be quickly coming to an end and it’s almost time to switch the heating back on but is your car prepared for the sudden change in conditions? We have some Autumn Car Care tips writes Suzanne Keane
1. Lights
With long evenings we don’t need to rely on our headlights as much to see where we’re going (although you should always keep them turned on for safety). Check that all your bulbs are working and get your headlights focused professionally! If the bulbs seem dim replace them.
2. Wipers
Check that your wiper blades are cleaning the windscreen properly and remove any leaves and debris from around the base of the windscreen. It’s a good idea to top up your screenwash too.
3. Tyres
The roads have been noticeably slippier in the past week so check out your tyres and make sure they don’t need to be replaced. It’s also a good time to check on your tyre pressures.
4. Battery
If your car battery has been giving problems it’s a good time to change it so you don’t end up stranded on a dark wet road!
5. Brakes
Road conditions will worsen as bad weather sets in so it’s a good idea to ensure your brakes are in tip-top condition. Along with your tyres they are the most important aspect of your car.
