Toyota Avensis Tourer

What is it?
Ireland’s second best selling car the Avensis has endured for its consistency, reliability and value for money. A recent revamp has only increased its appeal.

What is it like inside?

Inside it is spacious, comfortable and easy on the eye. The Avensis inside or out is not a car that is ever going to excite but it is one that is very hard to find fault with.

What is it like to drive?

The revised chassis feels stiffer and means the new version is better to drive and steering feedback is greatly improved. But it is still outclassed though by rivals, particularly the Mazda6 and Ford’s Mondeo.

What is it likely to cost?
There are two choice in the Avensis estate range, both equipped with the same engine the price difference is based on spec. The lower spec version the Aura is priced at €27,595 and the higher one , Luna available at €31,850. Both deliver an excellent 4.6 litres per 100km.

Overall
The revamped Avensis is without a doubt an accomplished car and the subtle changes have made a considerable difference. With a great name for reliability, super cruising comfort and a first-rate specification the Avensis is a really excellent family car that will provide stress-free motoring in comfort and safety.
