Supercars, Race cars, Drift cars and rally cars in action, all for a very good cause writes Suzanne Keane
On 27th May I popped along to Mondello Park for my first FundRacer. This event guarantees a huge selection of supercars, rally cars, touring cars and drift cars on display but it’s not just a static show – the air was constantly filled with the smell of burning rubber and the sound of high powered engines as all the cars were also taking turns around the track for the entire day!
This is the 4th time this event has taken place at Mondello and it has grown from strength to strength raising more than €60,000 for Irish Autism Action and The Jay and Ellie Foundation in its first 3 years and raised €18,000 on the day this year.

Despite the event being about raising money for charity entry for spectators was free with donation buckets on hand for anyone feeling generous. For the ultimate FundRacer experience passenger laps were on offer for those with a need for speed – with the added bonus of supporting a worthy cause!
Of course a trip to Mondello wouldn’t be complete without some track time and I was lucky enough to spend a few minutes in a one of a kind Mitsubishi Evo 9 which is owned by Wesley Keating from WKD imports.
So keep an eye on their facebook page or check out fundracer.ie for information on next year’s event or to have a look at photos and video from this year!
