How Clean is Your Car?
Here at www.wheelsforwomen.ie we carried out a survey to assess our readers’ attitudes to car cleanliness we look at the results of our survey. It seems that our readers are not obsessed with car cleanliness but the majority of you do retain some standards when it comes to keeping the chrome shiny and the bodywork clean! How important is car cleanliness to you? Is your car sparkling or does the inside of it resemble a rubbish tip? Maybe you have followed Suzanne’s car wash guide and given your car that “showroom shine”? Keeping a car clean may not be at the top of everyone’s priority list. It might come at the end of a long list of more important things that need to be kept clean (the kitchen, house, family dog, children etc.!). Only 5% of our survey respondents said that they had never washed their own car so it seems that most of you have no problem pulling on the Marigolds and getting down to the business of car washing. A small proportion of you, just 5%, wash your car weekly. The majority of you (35%) wash your car occasionally but 30% of you wash your car monthly which is perfectly acceptable. 20% of you wash your car every two weeks. Just 10% of you say that your car is rarely washed. Of course our survey cannot measure how dirty your car was before it gets washed. By the nature of where we live or the roads our cars spend most of their time driving on, some cars will be more in need of a wash than others! We also assessed our readers’ attitudes to keeping the exterior and interior of their car clean. The majority of respondents, at 35%, said that it was “somewhat important” to keep the exterior of their car clean. By contrast the majority of respondents (35%) rated keeping the interior of their car clean as “important”. So it seems you are a practical bunch and rate interior car cleanliness higher than keeping the bodywork clean. If the results of our survey have reminded you that...
