We are delighted to announce a new champion for motorists in Ireland – the Association of Professional Motoring Press (APMP).
This new grouping consists of some of the most widely-read professional motoring journalists in Ireland.
APMP’s mission is to deliver the very best advice on motoring matters through all forms of media – print, radio, television and online to consumers. APMP members write and broadcast for household names such as The Irish Times, RTÉ, Independent News & Media and The Sunday World – to name just a few!
APMP members have unrivalled motoring experience and literally millions of kilometres of test driving under their belts. From two-wheels to four, from private to commercial vehicles, APMP members have unrivalled, collective expertise.
Chairperson of the association, Michael Sheridan said today: “The APMP will serve consumers and the motoring community by channelling its members’ extensive professional know-how, across all aspects of motoring. APMP members value integrity, have strong ethical principles and a clear passion for all things motoring.”
The highlight of the motoring year will be the annual APMP awards. APMP awards, covering multiple categories, will be the most rigorously assessed in the history of Irish motoring. Sheridan continues: “Members’ mutual respect is key to the integrity of the APMP and the value of its awards will set a new benchmark across the industry.”
APMP’s Geraldine Herbert (Sunday Independent and Wheelsforwomen.ie) says: “APMP represents a new voice for the motoring press in Ireland at a time when motorists demand integrity and transparency ”
APMP’s Tony Toner (beepbeep.ie): “Vehicle purchase is a serious outlay for domestic and commercial users. APMP will give consumers the most relavant and up to date advice available.”
APMP will bring a number of initiatives to consumers, for example, our Education Officer is tasked with communicating with second and third-level institutions to bring the messages of driving enjoyment and driving safety to the next generations of Irish motorists.
Other exciting APMP initiatives will be announced in the coming weeks and months.
