London-based racing driver management programme signs 16-year-old Alyx Coby to further develop her professional racing career
Irish karter Alyx Coby has today been announced as the newest member of the Navigate Partners Driver Management Programme. Alyx (16) from Newbridge, Co. Kildare is currently competing internationally in the Senior X30 class.
Earlier this year, Alyx was personally selected by the late motorsport philanthropist John Campion as the only karter to join the prestigious CJJ Motorsports programme and qualified 3rd in her first race for the team at the IAME Ladies Cup at Varennes Sur Allier, France. In preparation for 2021, Alyx has begun an elite training programme under the guidance of her Performance Coach, elite athlete and international hockey player, Nicci Daly.
She has impressed continually in Ireland and abroad, including twice qualifying for the IAME International Final at Le Mans, one of the most-renowned kart races in the world, against 140 of the top international drivers. Since she started racing at the age of eight in 2013, Alyx has racked up an impressive tally of race wins and has firmly established herself as a star of the future.
Based at its HQ on Wimpole Street, London, Navigate Partners builds on decades of experience on the sporting, commercial and operational sides of motorsport from karting to F1 to guide the careers of exceptional drivers.
Navigate Partners works with a small group of drivers from karting up, to develop their career strategy and build their sporting performance, personal brand and network of partners, creating an environment that allows them to excel.
Alyx Coby, CJJ Motorsport driver said: “I am incredibly proud to be invited to join the Navigate Partners Driver Programme. This means a lot to me and to my whole family who have worked so hard to support my racing. I’d like to thank Naomi and Christopher for welcoming me into the programme and giving me this opportunity.”
“I’d also like to thank Matt Griffin, Rob Udell, Suzanne and the late John Campion for all of their guidance and Nicci Daly for her encouragement and support with my mental and physical preparation. Navigate Partners is an amazing environment to be in, with all the support I need to reach my full potential, and the security to look ahead and to be excited about what we can achieve together. I’m looking forward to a busy winter of preparation ahead of an important 2021 season.”
Christopher Foster, Founding Director of Navigate Partners said: “Alyx is a rare talent. When we were introduced to her through John Campion and the CJJ Motorsports team earlier this year it was clear that she had exceptional prospects. She has the talent, outlook and determination to build a career for herself in motorsport and has a brilliant team around her with her father Gary and now her Performance Coach Nicci Daly. We are delighted to be able to add to that and provide an environment to allow Alyx to develop as a driver and build what I am sure will be a very successful career.”
Naomi Panter, Founding Director of Navigate Partners said: “At its core, the Navigate Partners Driver Management Programme is to identify and nurture exceptional drivers. We have been looking for a driver for some time who has the ability to compete at a very high level and the appetite to continually improve and develop. To find a driver of Alyx’s calibre in my native Ireland and to tell Alyx’s story and grow her career internationally is a particular privilege for me personally. I have seen how hard she works and her talent is undeniable. Alyx has a superb team around her and we are thrilled to have Alyx join our programme.”
